Moms Day Out
Two year old mom's day out
Our Mom’s Day Out 2 Year old program uses special teaching materials to take advantage of a child's sensitive years, during which the young mind is most absorbent. Research has shown that the most important years of growth are the first six years of life. By age 4, the individual develops 50% of his mature intelligence and from 4 to 8, an additional 30%.
Our Mom’s Day Out 2 Year old program includes language, practical life skills, music and movement, mathematics, and creative art, The classroom is tailored specifically for the two-year-old. The desks, chairs, blackboards, easels and sinks are the right size for the children to work with and learn.
The learning is a child centered, process oriented and choice driven. It helps develop self control which is facilitated through positive guidance techniques, redirecting, and setting clear limits. Establishing an inviting extension or "doorway" between the child's home and his entrance into the future preschool awaiting him, allows the child to experience the joy of learning at an early age while preserving the spontaneity, curiosity and initiative inherent within him. Our Montessori philosophy allows a specific structure which stimulates learning in the physical, social, emotional and intellectual developmental areas so that each child will reach their full potential with their own individual pattern and timing of growth and development.
Our Program Activities Include:
- Language - Children will be immersed in a language rich environment at this crucial stage of language development.
- Practical Life Skills - These skills include practicing grace and courtesy, helping with meal preparation and serving, pouring and spooning, caring for the classroom, and self-help skills such as toileting and dressing.
